Avalanche now supports complex presets & Capture One 23

December 5, 2022 – Montpellier, France.

CYME is proud to release the new version of Avalanche, the accurate photo conversion software for Mac, designed to migrate photos with all their complex adjustments to Luminar, Lightroom and the brand new Capture One Pro 23.“The new version of Avalanche supports new advanced edits (like Dehaze, Color Grading and HSL Color Mixing) thanks to its native artificial intelligence,” affirms Matthieu Kopp, CYME co-founder. “Photographers can now migrate their photos in bulk while preserving their finest modifications.

Avalanche transfers photographers’ complex edits

Editing apps have incompatible proprietary formats. While all of them do propose some transfer solutions, their migrations are incomplete (some fine adjustments are not reproduced) and do not manage large volumes well. This means that photographers can’t freely change their work tools.Compatible with Adobe Lightroom, Capture One and Luminar, Avalanche has been designed to preserve photographers’ edits with extreme precision. Its AI has been trained to spot complex settings and to translate them into the functions available in their favorite editing apps, while managing up to 100,000 photos in minutes. When migrating, Avalanche now preserves new complex and advanced presets like HSL mixing, Color correction, Clarity conversion, and Dehaze conversion. And Avalanche continues to support great migration between editing apps for White Balance for JPEG and RAW, Highlights, Shadows, Blacks, Whites, Metadata and keywords, Geometrical effects, and other complex adjustments like Vignetting, Levels, Sharpening… Specifically, this means that Avalanche can now convert images using Lightroom Presets to Capture One with much higher accuracy.

Avalanche compatible with the new Capture One Pro 23 and Ventura macOS 13

Avalanche is now compatible with the latest version of Capture One Pro, launched on November 7. Migration from Lightroom to the new Capture One 23 has been vastly improved by training AI to accurately convert advanced presets–namely Colors, Black & White, Clarity and Dehaze–that Capture One migration doesn’t manage perfectly without the help of Avalanche’s AI.

Avalanche has been further improved to provide better auditing capabilities on transferred catalogs, enabling photographers to use dedicated keywords and smart collections to quickly find images needing special attention. Avalanche also converts Lightroom presets into Capture One styles for reusability.

Recognized by thousands of photographers for its speed, accuracy and ability to handle large volumes, Avalanche allows photographers to exchange their current photo editing software for Capture One Pro 23 while keeping all their existing work.

Avalanche has also been updated for Apple Ventura (macOS 13) and supports the latest version of Apple Photos library.

System Requirements

Avalanche for Capture One requires macOS 10.14 or later and runs well on Ventura.
You need around 145 MB of free space, 4 GB of memory (8 GB recommended) and enough space to accommodate the converted libraries.

A working copy of Apple Aperture is not required to migrate Aperture libraries, as Avalanche opens those libraries natively.
