Searching with Automatically Assigned Keywords
Using its advanced image recognition capabilities, Peakto automatically assigns keywords to your photos. This process happens seamlessly, requiring no input from you and serving as helpful suggestions.
You can use these suggestions to search for your photos. For instance,if you’re creating a series focused on mountains, simply type in the keyword “mountain” to view all the images where the AI has detected mountains. This makes your initial selection process much easier—without the need to manually tag anything, as Peakto takes care of it for you.
Embedding Suggested Keywords into Metadata
You can permanently embed these AI-suggested keywords into your photo’s metadata. In Peakto, this is easy to do. Navigate to the Editing > Keywords section in the right-hand panel, where you’ll find suggested keywords for your image. To assign a keyword, click the arrow to tag the photo and embed the keyword into its metadata.
Once embedded, the keyword stays with the photo when you export it as a JPG or open it in other software, such as Lightroom. If certain keywords aren’t relevant, you can remove them by clicking the cross icon next to the term.
Compatibility with Keywords from Other Photo Editing Software
One of Peakto’s standout features is its broad compatibility with other photo editing programs, such as Lightroom, Apple Photos, Luminar, and Capture One. Peakto provides a centralized view not only of all your media but also of the associated metadata.
In Peakto, you’ll also find the keywords you assigned while editing in other software like Lightroom, Apple Photos, Capture One… These keywords appear in gray, distinguishing them from the colorful keywords assigned or suggested by Peakto.
Advanced Usage: Centralized Keyword Management (Lightroom, Capture One & Peakto)
Peakto shows all terms associated with your images——those suggested or assigned by Peakto and those from other software. Additionally, Peakto can also act as a command center for managing Lightroom and Capture One keywords. Let’s take an example: in Lightroom, I identified an octopus in one of my underwater photos, but it is actually a squid. When I search for the keyword “octopus,” the squid appears, which isn’t what I want.
Here’s how I can fix it:
- I can remove the incorrect keyword in Peakto. This way, when I search for octopus photos, the squid won’t show up anymore. The keyword will appear crossed out, and Peakto will remember not to associate this photo with the term “octopus.” I can also change my mind and reassign the keyword. But Note that this deletion will only apply within Peakto.
- If I want to remove the keyword in both Peakto and Lightroom, I’ll need to update my Lightroom catalog. To do so, I must configure Lightroom and Peakto to synchronize with each other (see how to synchronize Peakto with Lightroom). Once synced, the keyword will no longer appear as “crossed out” in Peakto and will be removed from the photo’s metadata in both Peakto and Lightroom. Peakto then becomes my control center for managing keywords.
This type of synchronization is also possible with Capture One (see how to synchronize Peakto with Capture One). It works with Apple Photos as well.
In Peakto 2.2, this synchronization can even be done in real-time. In this case, crossed-out keywords are eliminated, and modifications are applied immediately.
Conclusion
Peakto saves you time and offers centralized control over your entire photo library. The AI-suggested keywords make finding photos quick and effortless without requiring manual annotation. With its compatibility and synchronization with Lightroom and Capture One, Peakto becomes the ultimate hub for organizing and tagging your photos.
