Frequently Asked Questions

What is Peakto?

Peakto is a game-changing photo organizer that gathers all your photos and videos in one app. Peakto is like the hub that centralizes all your images, no matter what hard drive they are stored on, the cloud they are saved on or the editing software they have been modified in. Peakto is like a control tower that gives you an always up-to-date and complete view of all your images.

Peakto is a Mac application that you install on your computer. You can connect all your photo and video libraries to Peakto using a simple drag and drop. Peakto will give you a preview (not a copy) of each image/video and let you navigate smartly among them (thanks to filters) without modifying your original files or your organization.

Peakto can regroup your catalogs from Apple Photos, Aperture, Lightroom & Lightroom Classic, Luminar Neo, Capture One, ON1 Photo RAW, Pixelmator Pro, DxO PhotoLab/PureRAW, Topaz Photo AI, FotoMagico, iView Media–and from your folders and hard drive.

The Timeline is a widget accessible from the Peakto’s toolbar that visually displays the distribution of your images over time. It works seamlessly with all other Peakto views, including the grid, map, detail view, and panorama. Each bar represents a group of images taken within a specific date range, allowing you to quickly see patterns in your media collection.
You can easily select images from a particular timeframe by clicking and holding to create a selection area on the Timeline. Adjust the handles to refine your selection, and the start and end dates will update in real time. You can also enter the dates manually using the date entry fields for precise control.

The Timeline uses colors to help you compare image distributions. Grey bars represent all images in your catalog, while blue bars indicate the images in your current selection. This feature is especially useful when applying filters (such as metadata, GPS, or face recognition) to see how your selected images compare to your entire collection.
