After working together on a previous adventure (Aquafadas Rakuten), Avalanche co-founders Matthieu Kopp, Claudia Zimmer and Thomas Ribreau decided to embark on yet another adventure together—to explore the creation of powerful software solutions for photographers and videographers.

Challenges of Navigating and Organizing Media

Attempting to navigate through our own media—scattered across drives, folders, or platforms like Lightroom, Aperture, Capture One, DxO, ON1, or Luminar for photos, as well as Final Cut Pro, Premiere, or Da Vinci Resolve for videos—remains a significant challenge. Even today, photos and videos are still managed as mere files, lacking meaningful organization and structure.
