5 Key Features for Efficient Photo Person Identification in Peakto

1. Importing Annotations from Other Applications

With Peakto, bringing your existing face annotations from other photo apps into one streamlined space is effortless! If you’ve partially tagged faces in apps like Adobe Lightroom, there’s no need to start from scratch—Peakto will take those existing annotations and make them work for you.

When you import your photos, Peakto automatically recognizes any face data you’ve previously added, prompting you to confirm or refine the names. You’ll see pre-existing names from other platforms appear with a handy question mark, ready for a quick validation. This means you can rapidly go through your library, confirm identified faces, and enjoy a more organized collection without duplicating efforts.

So, go ahead, bring in your past work, and let Peakto’s AI give you a head start on organizing every face in your photo library!

2. Creating Face Clusters

Say goodbye to scrolling endlessly through your photo library to find specific people—Peakto’s Face Clusters are here to save the day! Thanks to AI, Peakto automatically groups people who frequently appear in your photos. Simply assign a name to the created cluster to instantly tag hundreds of photos.

These clusters require a face to appear in at least three to five images before a group is formed. This way, you know each cluster is meaningful and focused on faces that truly matter. Once the clusters are formed, all you have to do is assign a name to each one. If Peakto recognizes a face, it suggests names based on previously tagged individuals. You can validate these with a single click.

3. Flow Annotation Process

Sometimes, a few faces slip through the automatic clustering—but with Peakto, adding those final touches is a breeze! For any faces that didn’t make it into clusters, you can easily handle them with manual tagging.

Just head over to the “Detail View,”and follow a flow where Peakto moves from one untagged face to another. Catch every face and make sure no one goes unrecognized in your photo collection.

With the manual annotation option, you stay in control, ensuring that everyone in your images gets the recognition they deserve!

4. Applying and Managing Face Filters

Once tagged, you can filter your photos by person. With Peakto’s face filters, finding photos of specific people in your library becomes incredibly fast and easy. Simply apply a filter for any tagged individual, and Peakto will instantly bring up every image featuring them.

This feature is perfect for photographers with extensive collections who want to locate and manage images of particular people without the hassle of endless scrolling. Whether you’re looking for family members, clients, or any familiar face, face filters make your search precise, organized, and delightfully quick.

With Peakto, your favorite faces are always just a filter away!

5. Handling Large Image Libraries

An online gallery can also be a powerful tool for selling your images to a wider audience. By incorporating e-commerce features, you can turn your gallery into an online store, allowing visitors to purchase your work with just a few clicks. Whether it’s selling prints, high-quality products like fine art prints or framing, or high-resolution digital files, an online gallery offers a simple and effective way to monetize your craft.

Moreover, this allows you to manage sales directly, without any intermediaries, while reaching an international audience. An online gallery optimized for sales helps you build a new revenue stream and expand your reach all at once.

Step 1: Tag People in Bulk with Clusters

Once you’ve indexed your folders and catalogs, let the AI analyze their content. When the AI finishes analyzing your images (the analysis is done locally, so no data is uploaded to the cloud—your content remains private), go to the “Face” view to see clusters that group images of the same person. Assign a name to each cluster to automatically tag all grouped photos.

Before assigning a cluster to a person, you can click on the “Edit” icon to view all images within the cluster and check for any errors. If there’s a mistake, select the images you want to remove—they’ll appear at the bottom of the window. The “Edit” icon lets you either identify the correct person or ignore the photo as needed.

If you need more context to identify a person, you can click on the image preview to display it in detail view.

Fine-Tune Settings: Recalculate Clusters

You can adjust the sensitivity of facial recognition.

Sometimes, especially in families, people may look very similar, and the AI might confuse them. You can adjust the sensitivity of facial recognition to avoid grouping, for example, siblings in the same cluster.

Go to Peako’s settings, in the AI menu, change Faces Detection and choose “Strict Clustering.” Then go to file and select “Recompute Face Clusters.” With this method, the AI will create smaller clusters. Occasionally, you might see multiple clusters for the same person—simply assign them the same name to merge them together.

Conversely, you can opt for “Wider Clustering.” With this option, Peakto creates larger clusters that include a broader range of similar-looking people, which can save you time if you’re photographing individuals with distinct appearances.

By default, Peakto is set to an intermediate setting, balancing between precision and efficiency.

Step 2: Remove Unnecessary Clusters

You may come across clusters that contain faces incorrectly identified by the AI; in such cases, you can choose to ignore them entirely. No worries if these clusters include photos you’d like to annotate later—you’ll still have the option to do so at any time. Use the 3 dots to ignore all unnamed clusters at once.

Thanks to AI, you’ve annotated hundreds of photos in just seconds. However, some of your photos may have slipped past the AI. Peakto makes it easy to quickly annotate these remaining images. After tagging the clusters and removing any irrelevant ones, you can move on to a finer level of annotation, ensuring every photo is accurately tagged.

Step 3: Identify People Precisely, Image by Image

To do this, select one of your sources (a folder, album, or catalog), then switch to detail view. Here, you can access the tools to annotate images one by one. Peakto will automatically skip over faces that are already identified and go straight to any unnamed faces. It suggests names you’ve already entered, prioritizing the person who most closely matches the image. This allows you to fine-tune your annotations with incredible speed and efficiency.

If you have photos of crowds, you can choose to ignore all faces present in the image.
